Mick Houghton to take part in Sandy and Fairport evening on 9th March

On the 9th March Mick Houghton will talk about his new biography of Sandy at the Slaughtered Lamb in London. The evening will also see Ashley Hutchings and Simon Nicol talk to journalist-broadcasters Mark Ellen and David Hepworth about Fairport's new record as well as regaling the assembled with fond and witty anecdotes of times past.

Sandy book launch events

Sandy biographer Mick Houghton will be doing a series of four events to launch I’ve Always Kept A Unicorn: The Biography of Sandy Denny beginning with an in-store Q & A with Will Hodgkinson and Bob Stanley on 26th of February at Rough Trade East in London. Fans can purchase the book ahead of its official publication on the 5th of March, and will receive a wristband admitting them to the event. Later on the 3rd of March the books publishers Faber will be presenting a night dedicated to all things Sandy to celebrate the publication of I’ve Always Kept A Unicorn: The Biography of Sandy Denny at the Troubadour in London, where author Mick Houghton will be in discussion with Simon Nicol (Fairport Convention), Joe Boyd and Mark Cooper (BBC). The evening will also feature Lavinia Blackwall (Trembling Bells) and Blair Dunlop performing a selection of Sandy's songs.

Mick will also be talking at Kingston School of Art where Sandy was an alumna, as part of their Art School Counterculture event on 5th March. The event is free but ticketed.
